In the past, Korean medical staffs have studied foreign advanced medicine through overseas training and returned to Korea to create the current advanced medical country. Like this, a medical staff training support project began in 2008 so that the medical staff in the developing countries can operate pediatric cardiac surgery in their own country through training.
A team of five medical staff (pediatric cardiac, pediatric cardiac surgery, anesthesiology, intensive care unit, and extracorporeal circulation) required to perform cardiac surgery in five countries (China, Kazakhstan, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Mongolia) received medical training for 1 year from 2012 to 2014. As follow-up support to further improve medical technology in countries where the Foundation has provided medical training, we continue to visit the local hospitals and invite for short-term training at hospitals in Korea.
In order to cultivate talent in the Korean pediatric heart field and to develop medical technology, the KHF provides overseas training support for pediatric cardiac staff in Korea.
We support to treat pediatric heart patients more professionally by acquiring a lot of knowledge and having rich clinical experience through overseas training.
